Vikunja
Open-source task and project manager with list, Kanban, Gantt and table views.
Project Management
Vikunja is a task and project manager that can be self-hosted or used through the vendor's managed cloud, with list, Kanban, Gantt and table views, reminders, labels, saved filters and CalDAV integration. It targets individuals and teams that want to run the software on their own infrastructure. The free self-hosted edition does not include the admin panel, audit logs or time tracking; those are sold separately as the paid Vikunja Pro add-on for self-hosted instances.

Self-Hosted (Community Edition)
- Limits
- The self-hosted edition does not include the admin panel, audit logs or time tracking; those need the paid Vikunja Pro add-on.
- Notes
- Pricing page states self-hosting is free forever and lists no user limit for it. Licence confirmed in the repository licence file (github.com/go-vikunja/vikunja/blob/main/LICENSE).

Vikunja Pro (self-hosted add-on)
- Limits
- Plans differ by user ceiling: Homelab up to 5 users, Team up to 25, Business up to 500, Scale unlimited. Adds admin panel, time tracking, and audit logs from the Business plan.
- Notes
- Plans are published but no price is shown (only 'Flat fee', 'Per user / month', 'Custom'), and the add-on is in private beta with a waitlist — so the price is recorded as unknown rather than guessed. The page states: 'Same license. AGPLv3. Not source available. Not open core.'

Vikunja Cloud Personal
- Limits
- One managed account with 10GB attachment storage and unlimited lists, tasks, reminders, share links, relations and filters.
- Notes
- Yearly billing is 40 EUR (-20%). The page describes it as 'Your own account' rather than stating a seat count, so no user limit is recorded. Managed hosting is a service, so no open-source licence applies to this edition.

- ImportSettings → Import from other services → Todoist → Get Started authorises the Vikunja Migration app over OAuth; the import runs server-side and can take hours on a large account.Source
- CaveatOff by default: an admin has to set migration.todoist.enable, register the instance at Todoist's developer console for a client id and secret, and make the OAuth redirect URL match.Source
- ImportSettings → Import from other services, pick Trello and click Get Started; authorise the Vikunja Migration app against your Trello account and the import runs server-side — on a large account it takes hours.Source
- CaveatThe Trello migrator ships disabled: set migration.trello.enable, register a Trello Personal Key and allow your Vikunja domain in Trello's origins, or no icon appears in the import list.Source
- CaveatOAuth happens in your browser, so the instance need not be reachable from the internet, but service.publicurl must be the URL your browser uses or the redirect lands nowhere.Source
- Microsoft To-DoThe pricing comparison lists To-Do import as included in the free self-hosted edition.Source
- ImportThe same flow for Microsoft To Do: Settings → Import from other services → the To Do icon → Get Started, then grant Vikunja Migration access in Microsoft's OAuth prompt.Source
- Caveatmigration.microsofttodo.enable defaults to false and needs an Azure app registration — client id, client secret and a redirect URL matching the instance — because the importer calls the Graph API.Source
